About
Welcome here ! My name is Sylvain Deville. I do some research in materials science, mostly in the field of technical and porous ceramics. My current research interest right now is focussed on using ice crystals as a templating agent to process porous materials, check out my publications page for more details. I am now back to France after a sweet postdoc in California, and hold a position at CNRS, in the Laboratory of Synthesis and Functionnalisation of Ceramics (LSFC, UMR3080), in Cavaillon.
I am the happy recipient of an ERC Starting Grant since 2011, which should keep me busy and happy for a few years. Beyond materials science and all other kind of other inspiring research, I am interested in tools and technologies that can facilitate the research process and the life of academics, such as Papers, Mendeley, LaTeX, RSS and so on, and will post a few tips and hacks I found usefull when I stumble upon them.
